Designed for those aspiring home chefs who truly enjoy cooking, the original line of GE Cafe appliances was an instant success. The stylish, professionally designed products made even the most discriminating foodies take notice. Since then, the GE Café line has continued to expand, offering affordable, innovative products in every kitchen product category – cooking, refrigeration and dishwashers.

Four years later, GE offers updated and improved exciting new products that enable consumers to take food farther than they ever imagined, with features like our 20,000 BTU tri-ring burner on Cafe freestanding double-oven or Speedcook in GE Advantium oven. Cafe has all the options a cooking enthusiast or aspiring chef needs to outfit an entire kitchen suite, updating the overall look of a kitchen without the hassle of remodeling the cabinetry. The professional appearance and performance of GE Cafe appliances attract the serious cook who wants the tools and features to take their cooking from four stars to five.

New GE Cafe products and features include,
- dishwasher with Steam Prewash option and dedicated water jets for silverware
- enhanced built-in 30″ single and double ovens
- freestanding gas double oven with the 6.7 cu. ft cooking cavity
- 30″ and 36″ wide gas and electric cooktops
- redesigned freestanding French Door refrigerator with more ice storage

The updated GE Cafe dishwasher now features dedicated silverware jets. The dishwasher middle wash arm with powerful spray jets is designed to focus specifically on silverware for a thorough cleaning of all utensils. The same jets also play an important part in the Cafe PureClean wash system with 5-stage filtration.

The other new feature is the dedicated DeepClean cycle which helps to remove difficult soils, like eggs, oatmeal and rice using a Steam PreWash option. After the second prewash fill, the dishwasher stops the water circulation and activates the calrod heater. Water dripping from the glassware and dishware falls onto the calrod heater and creates a wall of steam that helps to loosen soils before the main wash.

Additional key features and attributes of GE Cafe dishwasher are 4 wash cycles including Auto, DeepClean with Steam, China/Crystal and Normal Wash as well as 4 options including 2-, 4- and 8-hour Delay Start, Heated Dry On/Off, Added Heat and Automatic HotStart.

The 30″ wide GE Cafe built-in single convection wall oven offers 4.4 cu. ft capacity, sophisticated glass touch controls, black gloss oven interior, gliding heavy-duty roller rack with stainless steel ball bearings and PreciseAir Convection System with an innovative fan that reverses direction for optimal air and heat circulation, providing even cooking and precise baking and roasting results. Main convection cooking modes are,
- Convection Bake where both the bake and broil elements are cycled on and off alternately while the fan provides even heat distribution. This is optimized for foods like casseroles or lasagnas, yeast breads, pies and pizzas because browning is even with no need to turn or rotate the pan.
- Convection Roast with the convection fan operating on High. Convection Roast is optimal for larger cuts of meat, as this cooking mode rotates the heat around all sides, sealing in the juices, producing rotisserie results at up to 25% faster than a conventional oven.

With a GE Cafe double gas range, you can prepare two different dishes at two different temperatures at the exact same time. With the 6.7 cu. ft total oven capacity, you have plenty of space to cook. That means while your favorite dessert is baking in the 2.4 cu. ft upper oven, your main course can be slow roasting in the 4.3 cu. ft lower oven. The powerful gas cooktop features the 20,000 BTU tri-ring burner, designed for accelerated boiling and gentle simmering. The nonstick griddle is ideal for pancakes, bacon, sandwiches and more. In addition, the large griddle is convenient and easy to clean, just as the self cleaning ovens.

Other main benefits of this 30″ wide GE Cafe range include audible preheat signal, automatic oven timer, auto oven shut-off with override, auto recipe conversion, certified Sabbath mode, control lock capability, convection conversion, Delay Bake, Delay Clean, digipad numeric entry, electronic clock and timer, in-oven broiling, oven meat probe and self-clean cool down time display.

The 36″ wide deep-recessed GE Cafe gas cooktop contains spills in one area so they can be easily wiped clean. It has 5 sealed burners with removable caps, including a powerful 20,000 BTU three-in-one burner, designed for accelerated boiling and gentle simmering. The precise simmer burner is rated at 5,000 BTUs for general cooking tasks using a small pan, and it turns down to a very low 140°F for warming foods, melting butter or chocolate or making delicate sauces. The sleek LED backlit knobs indicate when burners are on.

Modern and robust, the redesigned French Door refrigerator by GE Cafe now comes with large in-door icemaker with temperature display, which produces filtered cubed or crushed ice without taking up food-storage space in the fresh-food section.

GE equipped the refrigerator with its advanced ClimateKeeper system, designed for even cooling throughout the fresh food section. This single-evaporator system maintains even, accurate temperatures by using electronic temperature sensors, a multi-flow air tower and electronic digital controls.

The full-width Freshness Center drawer features front and back gasket that reduce air movement inside, allowing fruits and vegetables to retain moisture. Setting the humidity control on High closes air vents to block circulation, creating humidity levels that are ideal for vegetables. Setting the humidity control on Low opens air vents to allow circulation, creating low humidity levels that are ideal for fruits and thick-skinned vegetables. And this drawer can handle wide items, such as deli trays.

ENERGY STAR was introduced by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 1992 as a voluntary, market-based partnership to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants associated with energy use. Today, the ENERGY STAR label can be found on more than 60 kinds of products as well as new homes and buildings. Last year alone, Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR, saved $18 billion on their utility bills and prevented greenhouse gas equivalent to those of 34 million cars. Products, homes and buildings that have earned the ENERGY STAR prevent emissions by meeting strict energy-efficiency specifications set by the EPA.

Some ENERGY STAR appliances are over 50% more efficient than a standard appliance. For example, GE’s GeoSpring™ hybrid water heater, which was introduced in 2009 as the first water heater to be ENERGY STAR® utilizes heat-pump technology. The GeoSpring™ electric water heater reduces electricity costs by up to 62 percent, saving as much as $320 annually on energy bills.

In addition to offering ENERGY STAR appliances that are efficient, Airport Home Appliance offers cutting-edge innovations that meet consumers’ lifestyles. A prime example of this is the innovative ENERGY STAR-qualified GE Profile™ frontload steam washer, which has an “Overnight Ready” cycle. Have a small load washed and ready to wear in eight hours or less, without changing from the washer to the dryer.

Over 50% of typical household electricity costs come from appliance and lighting products. Airport Home Appliances offers ENERGY STAR-qualified lighting and appliance products that help consumers curb energy spending and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while helping them meet their needs for style, performance and innovation.

Samsung has found a way to take even the simple nature of the refrigerator to the next level. Samsung’s new Wi-Fi enabled fridge has a slew of new features that turn your family’s fridge into a hub for scheduling, writing notes and even just checking or updating your Twitter. The variety of features available with Samsung’s Wi-Fi enabled fridge is sure to make running a family household much more efficient.

Here are just a few of the features you can use with Samsung’s new fridge:

The most useful feature on the Wi-Fi enabled fridge is undoubtedly its touch-screen display. Now, the question that most people are likely asking about this device is, when exactly would you need to use a Wi-Fi touch-screen on your refrigerator? Well, there are a number of practical uses that streamline things you and your family do on a daily basis.

First and foremost, the touch-screen can be used to leave digital notes and memos for the people living in your home. What makes this better than a standard marker board is the ability to archive your messages for later use. Imagine getting a call about a schedule change for a doctor’s appointment and making a note on your fridge. Now, you can recall that message at a moment’s notice so you don’t have to worry about forgetting.

Like planets around a star, the refrigerator is the central focal point in the kitchen. It’s hard to escape its influence; massive and enticing, it draws us in with the mysteries it holds. Like what’s for dinner. Luckily we can now look beyond for answers. The secrets of the stars may be unreachable for the moment, but as for what to do with that pound of ground beef, we need look no further than the refrigerator door.

The kitchen fridge is also where a family calendar or planner is typically found. The Samsung Wi-Fi fridge has a Google Calender built right into it, making the family’s schedule easy to find. The real benefit is that you can update your digital calendar from anywhere in the world and the changes will be made to the schedule at home. You can be at work, school or just on a laptop computer and make any necessary changes to the Google Calendar, knowing that they will get home to the rest of the family, making any important schedule changes a snap.

The online digital calendar makes keeping track of your family’s comings and goings a snap, and the ability to archive important notes and reminders make Samsung’s Wi-Fi enabled fridge the new centerpiece of household management.

And, of course, there is always the ability to check and update your Twitter account, letting everyone on your feed know when you’re low on milk.

Choosing a Refrigerator may depend on many factors. Each consumer has different refrigerator needs so they each have their own criteria to meet when choosing a new refrigerator. Some of the factors that a consumer might consider before buying a refrigerator are the following:

1. Budget: Of course, different household and different people have different allowable budget for a new refrigerator. It is necessary that before purchasing a new refrigerator, you should first determine how much you are willing to spend for a unit. Some refrigerators are very expensive, especially top brands like GE Monogram and Jenn-Air while other brands are more affordable although they might not look as high-powered. This doesn’t mean that they are less functional though most of these brands are still of high quality and dependability albeit with lesser add-ons and features. You should set your price range so that you know which refrigerators you can afford.

2. Dimensions: It is important to know the size of the refrigerator you need. If you are going to buy a built-in refrigerator, you need to get the exact dimensions since you would want to make sure that your new refrigerator would fit in your assigned cabinet. Even if it is not a built-in refrigerator that you are going to purchase, you still need to know the dimensions that you would need since different types of refrigerators have different sizes. There are the regular sized standard freestanding refrigerators, side-by-side refrigerators that are wider, mini and compact refrigerators, which are very small and other types of refrigerators.
3. Style: The look of your refrigerator would matter too. You might want to decide base on refrigerator colors and designs. Now-a-days refrigerators are not just the usual neural colors of white and beige; there are many colored refrigerators available too like black, green, yellow, blue and others.
4. Features: Today, refrigerators come with different features. Now a days, most refrigerators are frost-free meaning they are able to defrost their own freezers. This allows the customer to save time and effort in cleaning and maintaining their unit especially since defrosting refrigerators can be such a hassle. There are many other add-ons included too like icemakers, water filters, and many others.
5. Product type: There are many different types of refrigerators available. You can buy glass door fridges, stand-alone freezers, undercounter refrigerators and many others. Each of these product type have their own advantages and disadvantages and each of them cater to different consumer needs.

There may be some other factors that you might want to consider when buying a new refrigerator, but these are the most important ones to note. Buying refrigerators from retail stores may give you better options than buying them in specific refrigerator brands or companies. Airport Home Appliance offers a wide variety of refrigerators that consumers can choose from.

If you’re in the market to buy a new washer, one of the first decisions you’ll want to make is whether to buy a top-loading or a front-loading washing machine.

Until a few years ago, front-loading washers were seen almost exclusively in laundromats, but these days, you can find them in more and more conservation-minded homes as manufacturers begin offering a broader array of choices.

The traditional top-loading washer does its job well, compared with the washing drums and rollers previous generations used. The washer’s tub sits vertically in the machine and has an agitator in the middle that churns the water and clothes together, forcing water through the items. It drains, refills with clean water, agitates again, drains, rinses and spins. The front-loading machine follows the same basic method, but has many advantages over the standard top-loaders.

The front-loading machine’s greatest advantage may well be its energy efficiency, no small advantage considering an increasingly environmentally aware marketplace. Nearly every model bears the US Department of Energy’s “Energy Star” label, setting it apart as an appliance that meets or exceeds the stringent efficiency standards set out jointly by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy.

Here are some of the other differences between top- and front-loading washers:

Efficiency:

While a top-loading machine requires enough water to cover all the clothes in its drum, a front-loading washer needs only a third of that amount because its drum is set horizontally in the machine. As the drum turns, it uses gravity to drop the clothes back into the water. And while a top-loading machine will empty the soapy water and refill for a rinse agitation cycle, a front-loading machine just sprays clean water on the load as the drum continues to turn, saving gallons. Since there’s no agitator in a front-loading machine, there’s a lot more room for dirty clothes – and larger loads means fewer loads.

Finally, the front-loading machine’s spin mechanism can reach up to 1,000 rpm, as opposed to the standard top-loader’s average 650 rpm. That means less water left in the laundry, which in turn gives you a shorter drying time, saving energy there, too.

Space:

Most front-loading washers can be stacked with a companion dryer, an impossible feat for standard top-loaders, except for a mere few models. If floor space is important to you, a front-loading washer is the better choice.

Clothing life:

There’s no question that agitators are tough on your clothes. Because only gravity is at work in a front-loading machine, you’ll save a lot of wear and tear on your laundry, extending the life of your clothes and linens.

Cost:

In this department, the front-loading washer is at a significant disadvantage. Typically, they cost a minimum of several hundred dollars more than their top-loading counterparts. This initial outlay will be recouped, of course, in energy costs over the long run, but if you can only budget $500 or less for a washer, you’ll have to go with the traditional top-loading model.

Ergonomics:

If bending or kneeling is difficult for you, stay with a top-loading machine. You’ll need to kneel or bend to load the clothes as well as remove the wet load from a front-loading washer. When the machines are stacked, the washer goes on the bottom, so there’s no relief there, either.

Last-minute lid-flipping:

We’ve all run back to the washing machine to toss in a just-found pair of socks or T-shirt after the machine has started. But with a front-loading machine, there’s no turning back once you push the start button. The door locks until the cycle has ended. There are however, a few models that allow a few seconds to add a garment, but once that light or time has elapsed, your clothing has to wait for the next load.

Detergents:

Although you can use any kind of laundry detergent in a top-loader, your detergent selection may be a bit limited with a front-loading machine, depending on the manufacturer. Most manufacturers of front-loading washers recommend using an HE low-sudsing detergent; these are becoming more widely available all the time.

In the conservation department, the front-loading machine is a clear winner, saving water, energy and, of course, money over the life of the machine. The major detractor for most consumers is the larger initial cash outlay; front-loaders often cost $800 or more compared with around $350 for a good top-loader.
